Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on a massive update for my EasyRef add-on for Blender!
Here is a breakdown of what’s new:
GPU-Powered Image References: I've introduced a brand-new, highly optimized way to handle your image references in the viewport.
Groups & Stored Views: You can now assign references to specific parts of your character or asset. Selecting a group instantly snaps your camera to that stored view, displaying only the references you need for that specific area. Honestly, this has been a game-changer for my own workflow, and I use it constantly!
Streamlined Reference View: I’ve polished existing tools like Camera References and the main Reference View. You can now load all your images into the Reference View and seamlessly assign them to the Image, Camera, or Ortho tools from right there.
Export Capabilities: You can now export your in-scene references directly back to a local folder.
"How is this different from PureRef?"The biggest advantage is that your references live natively inside your 3D scene. You can interact with them directly, and thanks to the new Groups and Stored Views, your reference boards dynamically change depending on the exact part of the asset you're currently working on!
